I want to take a minute here to voice/vent/gripe whatever you want to call it.
Plagiarism it is what it is.
Plagiarism according to Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary, is to "plagiarize" means
* to steal and pass off (the ideas or words of another) as one's own
* to use (another's production) without crediting the source
* to commit literary theft
* to present as new and original an idea or product derived from an existing source.
Basically it is theft, no matter how innocent or honorable the intent was. This act has driven many stock artists and artists away from posting their work. It has also forced many stock artists to place a multitude of bells and whistles on there stock. This is something that has plagues all artists and stock artist for a long time now. And is something we all take very seriously.
Theft.....whether it be literary or artistic is still theft. It is taking anthers work and placing your name on it after making 1 or 2 changes and claiming it is your own. Would you walk into an Museum and have the balls to change one on Van Goethe pieces slap your name on it and attempt to sell it. Hell no because you would know it is theft, so why should it be any different here on DA or online.
Now as many know I am very open minded about my artistic Views Nudity has never bothered me and I have in fact Featured artists that do Nude stock. The Human form is an amazing piece of art in itself. However there is a difference between Nude stock and Porn. There is also a difference between Stock, porn and art.
Now let me explain what has brought this on....
I like many others joined Deviant art because I value creativity thought process, artistic minds and originality. I also wanted to be around the like minded where I could post my own art and it could be appreciated and I could receive honest feedback and I could sharpen my skills. I also joined this site and do art as a stress release and creative out let.
I derive a great deal of my inspiration from the folks I fave and the submission gallery. For the the past over month now I have been robbed of any inspiration I may of had which has been in short supply lately, so when I do actually get an inspiration or a wild hair and go to the submission gallery I am finding that snuffed out fairly fast.
What is creating this is 1 specific artist that I am seeing glorified by far too many and then uploading far too many stolen pieces that have been modified and claimed as their own and offered up as stock. Now if this was any of us we would be having a foaming fit right. For example say someone Jacked one of Elandrias or Faestocks shots changed the color a little then offered it up as there own. What would we as a community do? I will tell ya we would go ballistic. So why should it be any different for a no name artist or a past artist? I am not going to name names because if any of you troll the submissions then you will know exactly what and whom I am speaking of.
There has been a whole Gallery of over 2,500 shot offered as stock and claimed by this person as there own that this person did not take of nudes. 70's, 80's porn etc that are mostly all in a black and white form. This person has modified them and claimed them and then if insult upon injury was not enough they have offered them up as stock.
This person has not credited even one of the models or the photographers. Which is what makes us as photo manipulators and Plagiarizers different. This person has also not asked for consent to post these pieces from either the model or the photographer.
This is PLAGIARISM, plain and simple. Put a pretty bow on it throw all the compliments you wish but it is what it is.
Now for the past over a month I have seen this bitten my tongue, never went to the gallery and moved on. However today was the final straw for me and I went to this person gallery and was going to ask if they had consents from these people and if not why was he offering it as stock, whereas he was not the original artist. Seems like a fair and polite question to ask.
When I got to the person page and scrolled down the comments I see that everything he has posted is other peoples work that he is claiming as his own and offering to others. He has also posted a blog and in it thanking others for keeping him honest. OMFG are you kidding me?? Keeping him honest the whole gallery is theft. WTF???? Where is the honesty????
So I continue scrolling down and the first comment is a I used your work here. Okay even more theft. NICE. Then I see a whole wall of compliments on great gallery etc. Now I agreed with some of the comments however Theft is theft.
And when we as a community glorify someones theft then we are no better then the thief themselves. I could see this man posting these as a reference however he is NOT he is posting them as stock for photo manipulations and he does not have that right he is not the model nor the photographer.
I am sorry guys I am just very saddened and my inspiration gets snuffed every time I come on and see this in the submissions gallery.I just get this off my chest and see if maybe this will help bring back my inspiration. This has also curtailed me uploading any art I have done as of late and the new stock shots that I have taken.
It has also made me question whether redoing my sub and staying here is a good idea. I do not want to glorify nor support a thief or a site that supports that type of behavior.

OMG Guys I am so sorry I have not forgotten ya'll, I have been UBER busy. Life happens.
But in my business I have been snapping like a crazy woman.... I have amassed some FANTASTIC shots for the watchers pack. I have 2 more places I have to hit and I am going to do that today then edit and upload for everyone else and then finish the watcher pack.
What I am going to do is for the watchers I have as of todays date I will email you the password on the pack. All I ask is let me know and of course please no hate or persecution pieces.

So onto my post everyone needs to understand that I am NOT anti Nudity and in fact NEVER will be anti nudity nor am I prude.To help support this and better help the reader understand just how NON anti nudity I am 3 of my best friends in the world RT friends are active porn stars and have won varied AVN awards over the past few years. I myself have been in an alternative lifestyle for over 10 years and am well known in
those circles as a writer, an erotic photographer and lecturer.You dont get any further from prude then me without crossing into the lines of sexual deviant. LOL LOL But really not the point. The point is I am very open minded and nudity in varied forms does not bother me at all. As long as it is adults I am five by five.

Anywhoo I am a firm believer that the human body is a piece of art in itself and the ways it can be posed is pronominal.I also believe that Nudes are an intricate part of "ART" itself and the nude genre dates back as one of the earliest art influences.
A huge part of "Art" is having stock or reference material. As of late I have seen some rather disturbing things posted in the resources and stock images on here. This has raised a question to me of is this deviantArt or is this deviantPorn?
Now the ever busy staff on here does works miracles keeping up with everything but there are times that one has to question just WTF were they thinking.
An example of this is last week while perusing the resources gallery I happen to stumble upon a piece that was in my opinion definitely NOT stock! Granted the lighting is amazing and the composition is really good however the subject matter is not stock. I ran it by several others who also were like wtf that is NOT stock.
It was a shot of a gal sprawled on a motorcycle in a girl school skirt legs spread and hands down her panties. I did not click it and go to the gallery itself until I come across another shot of this same gal in a bra with soapy tits. Again this is not stock.
So I go to the gallery and I was unsure whether I was looking at soft core Porn or stock gallery. The whole gallery is filled with like type of shots in varying degrees. I figure okay well ya know different strokes for different folks and contact staff and question whether this particular piece would be better suited in the Photography section under the fetish shots.
I hear back from staff and am told that this is a stock shot. I am thoroughly disgusted and move on.

Two days later I come on and what do I see 6 more soft core porn pieces from 6 different people. I again just move on and shake my head. Upon further discussion this with several other stock artists on here (and yes folks stock artists are SOO very much artists too), in private email, on my site, reading the blogs and Terms of use of many stock artists the trolling, propositioning and harassment and nasty comments that have increased over the past month.
This led those of us talking about this to ponder if the recent uploads are a direct cause of the increase. Yes it has always been there and one has to acknowledge that if you post nudes there will be some backlash but when it has raised to the level it is now there is a major issue. If it is not the trolling, propositioning, it is harassment or nasty comments about someones weight or the way they look from those that dont do nudity themselves and/or want to force their beliefs on others. Then there is always my own personal favorites the ones that make requests so they have spank material not so they have stock. GROWL
PEOPLE THIS IS DEVIANTART NOT DEVIANTPORN!!!
Therefor I wanted to post a blog about this in hopes that someone new or thinking about this type of stock will use it as a point of reference. I am not posting this for a war on dA.....
This is strictly advice....Their is a fine line between Nude stock and what is NOT stock and just flat soft core porn and/or spank material.
I want to give a few examples of what nude stock is, now there are many many nude stock artists and the ones I am citing here are far from the only ones out here but are shinning examples of what Nude stock artists are..... They dont do it to Abuse your fine sense of sensibility or abuse your children. Its not like they dont have discovery channel, tv or go to school and hear and see far worse.
They do it because they have a vision in their own heads and they see the human body for what it is... a masterpiece. The way the light hits and lights up a curve. They see the beauty in the form and capture it on film. I could go on and on. These folks have the generosity to share that with us all.
On a personal note I personally tip my hat in gratitude to each and every one of you artists that do nudes that are stock that are tasteful and so amazing.

*FUNERAL MARCH AN PROCESSION*
My PC has official died..... WAH WAH WAH WAH It was old but dammit I nursed and babied it as long as I could. It finally died. After 10 years 6 hard drives and 3 externals and multiple slavings. I killed it. But I did not lose a thing Thank god for external drives. I am having a formal burial for it next week. I am going to bury it in my backyard and weep like a good little mourner should. All flowers will be accepted. Sniff sniff
But it is all good with the death of my baby I have gone down and gotten a new system.
It went straight in to the shop and I should have it within the week.I got a slim line with 200GB HD and a 4GB RAM and blah blah blah blah who really gives a rats behind about tech stuff LOL
LOL All I can say is my Dino computer was a monster to move heavy as all get out... but Damn for this new one being so Compact it is one heavy Motha Bear.
So anywhoo Moving on.... YAYYYY So I will be able to Graffik to my hearts little content.

No really I have gotten some great stuff as of late... even with all the crappy weather here.
I have gotten some of this and some that....

Okay so here is what I have gotten for all your yummy art resource purposes
1- Train stations
2- Victorians
3- Classic Transportations
4- Gazebos
5- Islands
6- Steam Punk stuff
But as always I will not list the best stuff itis a BIG surprise for my stalkers oops I mean watchers LOL JK teasing ya watchers. I just adore you guys!!! What I am going to do is set a few packs exclusively for my watchers as a Thank you and if you actually watch my crap on here you will be able to find the password for the packs and if ya cant what the hell just write me and I will shoot the password over to you. WOOP woop.
Now I do want to advise everyone this last round of shots I did with Steam punk in mind so there is some really awesome stuff in there that is industrial and/or victorian related.
I have also just obtained consent to enter a few really AWESOME buildings....
1- The old Nursing home
2-an old burned up Mill
3- A active and working plant ** Thankies Uncle Clark I love you**** Bats eyes innocently**** ha like he would ever believe that me being the sinner that I am and all**
I also am going to set a few pack exclusive for those that do have ANY steampunk. All you will need to do is drop me a line and I will give you the password. This is an appreciation thing for the steampunk stock providers. This is just such a neat and varied venue that one can just go buck wild with.
I personally would love to see more of this arena because it allots for each person to have individuallity and originallity. I mean c'mon folks you can only do rennisance so many ways.
